Dear friends of BH UK Network,
We want to share with you a piece of good news. Alicia Kearns MP has accepted our offer to be the patron of BH UK Network.

Alicia fully supported the activities of BH UK Network and gladly accepted the offer to be our patron. She did not hide her emotions and gratitude during her stay in the Bosanska house, and accepted the recognition with the comment:

“I accept the award not because I deserve it, but as a promise that I will continue to fight. I do not apologize for being emotional, but this is also a sign of my determination and my privilege to be here. The strength of all of you and the community of Bosnia and Herzegovina is that we refuse to be silenced, we refuse to be intimidated and we refuse not to stand up for decency, kindness and peace. This award is a great honor, but it is also a promise and determination, we will be with you and I want you to know that Parliament is behind you. There is work to be done, and we can only stop the conflict if we stand together.”
We would like to remind you that in addition to Alicia Kearns, the patrons of the BH UK Network for many years have been Jennifer Stone-Wigg, MBE and Dr. Waqar Azmi OBE.
Jennifer Stone-Wigg was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) in 2008 for her work helping the poor in Bosnia and her humanitarian work. Jenny has been a patron of the BH UK Network since 2007.
Dr Waqar Azmi, founder and chairman of Remembering Srebrenica, received an OBE from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 in recognition of his significant contribution to the UK. Dr Waqar has been a patron of the BH UK Network since 2014.
