During January and February this year, 20,821 passengers were transported from Tuzla International Airport with a reduced flight schedule, and flights are expected to be at full capacity again from April.
The annual plan is 380,000 passengers, depending on the current pandemic. According to the tentative flight plan, all destinations with which Tuzla Airport has open flights are planned from April 1st.

So, there will be 16 destinations in six European countries. We hope that the pandemic measures will not spoil that plan. Our projection that we will transport 380,000 passengers is quite realistic. If we look at the winter flight schedule, this month is somewhat better than the previous one – says Esed Mujačić, director of Tuzla International Airport.
So in March there are 11 flights per week, he continues, while in January and February there were eight or nine, and the management is enthusiastic about increasing the number of passengers in the coming months.
In 2020, the airport management signed a new five-year contract with WizzAir.
Due to the pandemic, an Antigen Testing Center was opened for travelers to European countries, and a contract was signed to open a PCR testing center.
In addition to a number of other signed contracts, some of the largest planned activities are the construction of the atrium, which has already begun, as well as the parking lot and landscaping of the exterior areas. Activities have also been initiated for runway load-bearing measures and a public tender has been announced, which should be completed in the next three months.
- This is one of the prerequisites for opening overseas lines – said Mujačić.
The Tuzla Canton Government has ambitions to bring this airport to a medium level of service quality.
- We are moving towards ensuring the conditions for approximately one million passengers to depart from this airport annually. This is our strategic guideline for the coming period – said Nenad Lukanović, Assistant Minister of Trade, Tourism and Transport of the Canton of Tuzla.
