through education, youth empowerment, solidarity, and opportunity, supporting people to rebuild their lives and thrive
Our Mission
“The Bosnia & Herzegovina UK Network exists both to provide practical, social and psychological support to all former residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina now living as refugees in the UK and also to share our experiences with, and provide support to other ethnic minority organisations in the voluntary sector.”
Our Vision
A thriving and integrated Bosnian community that contributes to the UK’s diversity while preserving its unique cultural identity.
Our Values
We believe in solidarity, cultural pride, and empowerment through education and community cooperation
WHO WE ARE
The BH UK Network was established in 1996 to provide practical and psychological support to Bosnian and other ethnic minority communities. Today, we support a wide range of newly arrived groups with lived experience of war and displacement. We are a 100% user-led organisation, with our work shaped and delivered by people with lived experience, ensuring our services are relevant, responsive, and rooted in the needs of the communities we serve.
WHAT WE DO
We work to improve the quality of life for Bosnian genocide survivors and other migrant communities across the United Kingdom. Today, we also support newly arrived communities with similar experiences of war and displacement — including those from Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and beyond — ensuring that no one is left isolated and that everyone has the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity. Through tailored support services, and community-led programmes, we help people build confidence, access opportunities, and feel connected.
