I am Fatima Mušanović. I was born in 1968. Before the war, I was married and lived happily with my husband Mirsad for 7 years. When the war started in 1992, I was captured with my husband. They separated us in the camp, I was with the women, and my husband was taken to the men’s prison. That’s where we last saw each other. After various tortures that I endured, I was exchanged after four months. So I spent four months in the camp. My husband remained in the camp and to this day I don’t know anything about him. So he was killed like many other camp inmates. After the war, I managed on my own as best I could. I couldn’t solve the housing issue because my husband was killed in the camp and didn’t die in the ARBiH. I currently live with my mother in her apartment, because my brother Salko was also captured in the war. He was taken to the camp where he was killed. I am currently seriously ill and I move around with the help of crutches and other aids. In 2013 I had surgery for an intra-anal aneurysm. Now I have a big problem with my spine. Doctors have been unable to solve my problem in Bosnia for years. Lately the pain has been getting worse and worse, so I mostly lie down. The more I sit and sometimes have to use crutches or something to move, the more the pain increases and becomes unbearable. That’s why I sent my results to Turkey, where the doctors are asking me to come to Turkey for an examination, which would cost around 2,600 euros, and the surgery would cost an additional 9,000 euros.
