After a long 18 months, we eagerly awaited the return of the students and teachers of the Birmingham Bosnian Supplementary School to their classrooms. The rooms of the Bosnian House were once again filled with joy and children’s voices.
Attitude of teachers and parents is how very important the fact is that children are returning to school, in the hope that this will last given the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic. On Saturday, you could see the joy on the faces of those present because of the return and that the children finally managed to see all their friends, which was missing a lot.
A parents’ meeting was held and students were enrolled in the new school year 2021/2022. The following students were enrolled: Ajša Bolić, Lejla Halvadžić, Amna Bešić, Dergić Amila, Zlomužica Harun, Gološ Zara, Imamović Kerim, Bolić Ćazim, Musić Rasim, Solaković Jasmina, Gološ Ishak, Durmišević Amila, Moro Francesca, Moro Stella, Hadžović Tara, Fawzi Mae, Šadić Ariyan, Bahtagić Neyla, Halilović Selma, Smajlović Belma, Aldino Halvadžić, Alem Gazibegović, Leila Dautović, Ella Hanić, Hana Dergić, Adin Gazibegović and Ayla Pezerović.

The folklore section continues to work. Unfortunately, due to the current health situation, the folklore instructor, our dear Fahira Hasedžić, is currently absent. However, this did not prevent, but rather motivated her students who graduated from the BH supplementary school Birmingham, to come and support the work of the folklore section. We can only say that we are very proud of dear Fahira and her students who are doing their best to keep folklore alive in the premises of the Bosnian House. The girls who came and taught folklore did their first class wonderfully. A big thank you to the following girls: Amina Mekić, Emina Bolić, Elma Bešić, Hani Cerić, Nejra Gazibegović, Elma Durmišević and Sabaheta Forić who will do their best to pass on their knowledge to the new generation.
After the parents’ meeting, socializing continued with kebabs and treats provided by the Birmingham BiH Association.
Schoolchildren, we wish you a happy start to the school year.
