A stakeholder meeting of the House for Ukraine with the Birmingham City Council and organizations supporting Ukrainians in Birmingham was held at the Bosnian House.
During the meeting, the project manager for the Municipality of Birmingham, Marsela Hoxha, announced previous actions and the latest activities related to the Homes for Ukraine program at BCC, including housing, including information on visas for Ukrainians and news on resolving housing issues for Ukrainians.
Hannah Keeler, Head of Employers and Partnerships at the Department for Work and Pensions presented the support and services of Jobcentre Plus.
Bosnia UK Network has been helping Ukrainian communities restart their lives in the UK since April 2023. Executive Director Dr. Anes Cerić said: “We are happy to support Ukrainians who came to the UK because of the war in their country. We have our own similar experience and we are happy to be in a position to share our experience and help other communities.”
✅ Currently Bosnia UK Network provides the following services for Ukrainians:
English for Ukrainians (every weekday), employment support, advocacy/advice/information/practical support, mental health support, community facilities and community bonding, culture and social events, socialization support.
Among the plans within the framework of the Ukrainian project in the Bosnian House, we plan to launch the following activities in the coming period:
