In the festively decorated Eveson Hall at the Bosnian House in Birmingham, a Bayram gathering was held, with the distribution of Bayram gifts for the youngest and oldest members of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in this city.
The program took place in a festive and emotional spirit, and it was especially enhanced by the future, current and former students of the BH supplementary school in Birmingham. The children performed verses and passages from the Qur’an, leaving a strong impression on everyone present. It was especially touching to listen to children born in Great Britain speaking, reciting and singing with great love and pride in the Bosnian language – the language of their parents and ancestors. We would like to thank all participants, especially our little ones, for the extraordinary program, as well as Ms. Lejla Gološ, who, with her selfless effort and dedication, organized and prepared the entire program.
This event once again showed the strength of community and the importance of nurturing cultural identity, no matter where we are.
