The attendees were addressed with speeches by Zaim Pašić – President of the BH UK Network, Cll Chaman Lal – Mayor of Birmingham , H.E. Osman Topčagić – Ambassador of BiH to the UK, Amrick Singh Ubhi – Envoy of King Charles for the West Midlands region, Dr. Waqar Azmi OBE – President of the organization Remembering Srebrenica and patron of the BH UK Network, Judi Millward – Chairwoman of the Eveson Trust and Dr. Anes Cerić, Manager of the BH UK Network
The event was held in the ceremonial hall of the recently purchased new home of the BH UK Network and was filled with the warmth, tradition, and colors of our wonderful Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On behalf of the host, Lejla Gološ addressed the audience with warm words of welcome and announced the address by the president of Bosnia UK Network, Zaim Pašić.
“Dear and respected guests, I have the honor to wish you, on behalf of the leadership of the BH UK Network, a happy Statehood Day of our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a special pleasure for me that today we are in the new Bosnian House, which is very important for the future of our community in the UK. Thank you to everyone who helped us find ourselves in the new house, especially Dr. Anes Cerić, who, with his team and a large group of activists, made it possible to make this day even more beautiful and happy for us. Thank you and happy holiday once again,” said Zaim Pašić.

The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Osman Topčagić, said: “I am pleased that this year we are celebrating BiH Statehood Day in the new building, the headquarters of the BH UK Network, which demonstrates the successful work and exceptional cooperation that the Network has with the local authorities in Birmingham, as well as the strong connection that you all cherish with your homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition “Man in the East” by Hadis Medenčević and the artworks of Robert McNeil on the topic of the genocide in Srebrenica. Hadis is from Derven with a temporary address in Prague and Robert is from Scotland and is also a patron of the BH UK network.
We want to thank our lovely ladies from Birmingham for the wonderfully prepared food they prepared for all our lovely guests. Everything was very tasty and praiseworthy.
