Training with lunch and reiki therapy in Bosanska house

As part of the BH UK Network’s activities, a training session with lunch and Reiki therapies was held yesterday afternoon for interested Bosnians and Herzegovinans from Birmingham and Coventry.Thumbnail IMG 4790 1 300x222

An introduction to the daily program and a brief overview of the topic “High Blood Pressure” was provided by Dr. Zdenka Besara. Those present had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Besara and learn about the symptoms and consequences of high blood pressure. During her presentation, Dr. Zdenka also provided a few tips that can help fight high blood pressure; “In the treatment of high blood pressure, lifestyle changes are recommended that include a healthy diet, physical activity and avoiding smoking, as well as regular intake of prescribed medications,” explained Dr. Besara.

Mrs. Sharon from the “Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice” institution for the care and care of people with incurable diseases also addressed those present. Her address was informative in nature. She informed those present about the work and importance of the existence of institutions like this one. “Persons with an incurable disease who no longer respond to treatment are referred from health institutions to the warmth of their home or our institution. The entire team of medical staff is at their disposal, who do not hesitate at any time to knock on their door, talk to them, give them words of encouragement and provide appropriate medical assistance. It is a precious feeling when we help someone despite a great emotional burden,” said Sharon.

Thumbnail IMG 4797 300x225BH UK Network has been cooperating with “Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice” and “Healing Hands Network” for a long time and in agreement with them, the arrival of staff from the aforementioned organizations has been organized on several occasions with the aim of promoting their services in the form of providing relaxation and reiki therapies and necessary information and advice on improving the quality of life of members of the BiH community in Birmingham and Coventry.

The kind Paula from the Healing Hands Network is one of many volunteers who has been using her healing hands in the form of complementary and holistic therapies to help alleviate the mental, physical and emotional effects of war for many years. Many may not know, but this organization is one of the few that provides support in their clinic in Sarajevo and several field locations to people suffering from the effects of the Balkan war.

After the therapies and training sessions, those present had the opportunity to socialize and serve lunch.
