1917 Movie Screen 300x138Izet Bučo left Bosnia and Herzegovina in wartime 1994. He was evacuated by the UN from Goražde as a medical emergency.

He arrived for treatment in Great Britain, suffering from severe bodily injuries caused by a falling shell.

The doctors did not believe that he would survive, but this stubborn Bosnian bravely, against all odds, fought for his life.

After numerous surgeries and a difficult recovery, Buco enrolled in the Multimedia Graphics Faculty and slowly but surely began his successful career in film post-production.

Izet Buco has long been a respected name in Hollywood. He has done 2D compositing, rotoscoping and visual effects on many famous films such as Harry Potter, 300: Rise of an Empire, Maleficent, Robin Hood, X-Men: The Last Stand, Skyfall, Wonder Woman and many others.

However, the biggest success in his career so far happened last night at the 92nd Academy Awards.

The film “1917” won three awards, including the award for the best visual effects, on which Izet Bučo worked together with his colleagues.

We are sure that this is only the first of many Oscars that Bucho will win in the future, and his story is an indication that the road to success is strewn with thorns and that, if we are brave enough, we can emerge victorious from every life situation.
