GENERATIONS UNITED IN THE LOVE OF THE FATHERLAND

Image 78In the festively decorated Eveson Hall in Bosanska House, a rich and emotional program was held on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Teacher Dževdana Gološ greeted the attendees on behalf of the hosts – BH Birmingham Association and BH supplementary schools.
Image 73After that, the national anthem of BiH was played, and then a video message from the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, was broadcast. A graduate of the BH supplementary school, Harun Zlomuzić, read the congratulatory message that Chairman Komšić sent to the BH UK Network on the occasion of 30 years of their successful work and activities. The attendees were addressed with speeches by Mr. Emir Bolić, Director of the BH School Birmingham, and Dr. Anes Cerić, Honorary Consul and Executive Director of the BH UK Network.
Image 74Through songs, recitations, plays and poetry, the students of the BH secondary school touchingly expressed their love for their homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina. Along with the lyrics “Jedna si jedina” and other patriotic numbers, the audience could also see the tears of veterans of Bosnia and Herzegovina. communities – tears of pride and confirmation that their decades of work to build a community in the second largest city in the United Kingdom was not in vain. Members of the “Fahira Hašedžić” Cultural and Artistic Society presented themselves with performances of traditional carts from their homeland.
Image 75 This performance was, in a special way, a tribute to their long-time choreographer, the late Fahira Hašedžić, who over the decades taught hundreds of children the beauty and values ​​of Bosnian culture and tradition. Her former students today proudly pass on that knowledge to new

We would like to thank teachers Dževdana Gološ and Ajla Gazibegović, students of the BH school for the excellent program, Nejra Gazibegović and Hana Cerić, as well as members of the KUD “Fahira Hašedžić” for their great performances. Great gratitude also goes to the parents and activists of the BH Association Birmingham for their support and engagement. The gathering continued with traditional Bosnian dishes and refreshments. Special congratulations to the management of the Bosnian House for the excellent hospitality and festive decoration of the space, worthy of this important anniversary.
