Speaker of the United Kingdom Parliament, Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP hosted the Srebrenica Memorial Parliamentary Reception organized by the humanitarian organization Remembering Srebrenica on July 12th in the State Rooms of the House of Commons.
The reception was attended by members of parliament and many British dignitaries from the entire political spectrum who gathered to remember the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica and look back on the lessons learned from the tragic events of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The chairman had the honor to welcome Šefik Džaferović , Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Emir Suljagić , director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center
Other prominent speakers included the Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Housing and Communities; the Rt Hon David Lammy MP , Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs; Colonel Bob Stewart DSO MP, United Nations Commander of British Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Rt Hon Ian Blackford MP, Leader of the SNP in Westminster; Fleur Anderson MP, Chair of the APPG on the Prevention of Genocide and Crimes against Humanity; Baroness Sayeeda Warsi ; Almasa Jakupović , second generation genocide survivor and performances by Bosnian opera singers Dženana Šehanović Sarajlić and Dženana Huseinagić.

The reception was also attended by Vanja Filipović , Ambassador of BiH to Great Britain, representatives BH UK Network as and many Bosnians and Herzegovinans living and working in Great Britain.
Exceptional attention, apart from the address of the host, they also provoked speeches Šefik Džaferović and Emir Suljagić, who spoke about the importance of cherishing the memory of the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina but also for the entire world.
A great contribution to the organization of various events marking the anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide in the United Kingdom, as well as last night’s reception in the House of Commons of the British Parliament in London, was once again made by the organization Remembering Srebrenica, led by its tireless president Waqar Azmi.
A contribution to the organization of last night’s event in London, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, was also made by BiH. non-governmental organizations operating in Great Britain, as well as many employees of the Bosnian Embassy in London.
