Bosnians in the Nottingham Pandemic and KUD “Mladost Bosne”

f2

I pass through the city of Nottingham, eerily deserted, terrifying silence, streets and parking lots without cars, shops closed. In a word, a dead city! I know they will tell you. It’s like that everywhere. And I take advantage of that opportunity when there is no one on the street and go to the garden, of course with good protection. I mean I’m alone, when all the Bosnians are in their gardens. There is a lot of work, but we don’t have any contact with each other, instead we call out to each other over the hedge, which is up to two meters high. And weF2 206x300 , happy that we can at least hear and see each other like this, speak our Bosnian language. There is a story about who did what and what they put off for years. So some whitewashed the house, others threw out unnecessary things, repaired the furniture….. and who knows what else. But we all only mention one thing: “This evil will also pass.” We all regret that we will not be able to go to Bosnia soon and visit our loved ones.

The other activists were also absent, so very often I get a message from my members of the folklore group Mladost Bosne from Birmingham. They regret that we no longer have folklore rehearsals, that this year they could not participate in many performances and festivals and show what our youth know and can do. I am really proud of them because they have left a very noticeable success everywhere. If, God willing, this pandemic passes, we will meet again and renew our Bosnian songs and dances. Until then, let’s all take care to stay alive and healthy.
