Bosnia and Herzegovina, be proud of the diaspora!

Fadil Mesan — Fadil Mešan is the creator of the BH World Championship. diaspora in small football and a prominent activist of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the diaspora. In his own way, especially through sports, which he has been involved in since childhood, he is a kind of ambassador of our homeland in the world.

Unfortunately, little is known in BiH about the largest event organized by the World Federation of the BiH Diaspora, which is the Futsal World Championship.

In addition to the many activities carried out by the BiH Diaspora Societies and Clubs organized around the world, the “Football World Championship”, which no other diaspora in the world has, is the embodiment of everything that makes us proud in the countries that welcomed us in difficult times and provided us with everything we needed. We tried to repay them in the way that only Bosnians and Herzegovina know and can, when they feel accepted in a new environment.

There are many examples where our children are the best students, athletes, our doctors…, real representatives of hospitals, workers in factories… We also have individuals in the parliaments of the countries they live in. We are simply the best AMBASSADORS OF OUR HOMELAND, no matter what individuals think of us.

The Futsal World Championship has been held every year, starting in 2004 and always in one of the European countries. To date, sixteen have been held. Last year, 2020, it was supposed to be held in St. Gallen, Switzerland, but “Covid made us wait for better times. It would take a lot of space here to talk about those who made a great contribution to the realization of the idea of the largest manifestation of the World Diaspora of BiH. Therefore, with apologies, I will only mention a few names: President of SSDBiH Hasan Šehović, Haris Halilović, Dr. Anes Cerić, Enver Nuhanović, Nijaz Alijagić, Enes Čeliković, Muradif Durić “Tarzo”, Nermin Hodžić…

It is unnecessary to talk about the importance of this Championship. It only speaks about itself and all that it provides. On this occasion, I would like to greet the head coach of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and suggest a meeting between the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Diaspora.

I suggest to the President of the Sports Federation of BiH that in the “Selection of Sportsman of the Year” an award related to the BiH diaspora be introduced. Exclusively for athletes and amateur sports workers. Without a doubt, there are those in the Diaspora!
