Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Independence Day to be Marked in the UK Parliament
To mark the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnia UK Network and the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Birmingham are once again organizing a formal reception at the UK Parliament. The event will take place on March 25th, in cooperation with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina (APPG BiH).
Such events provide an opportunity to showcase Bosnia and Herzegovina at the very heart of global political and diplomatic activity—London—through collaboration with British parliamentarians, partners, and friends of our country.
This year also marks a small milestone: it is the fifth consecutive year that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Independence Day has been commemorated in the British Parliament. This event serves as an excellent example of how the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in the United Kingdom actively contributes to promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the most positive light, while strengthening friendly ties between the two nations.
Dr. Anes Cerić, Honorary Consul of BiH for the Midlands and Director of the Bosnia UK Network, stated: “This is a prime example of the impact of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in the UK. It demonstrates how, through years of dedicated work and the continuous cultivation of friendships with partners, institutions, and key stakeholders, it is possible to effectively promote Bosnia and Herzegovina within global centers of power, such as London.”
We look forward to another dignified commemoration of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Independence Day in the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
