Over the weekend, Bosnians from Derby, Nottingham, Coventry, London, Hertford, Guildford, Wolverhampton and other cities across the UK gathered in Birmingham to celebrate the Statehood Day of our one and only homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is a date that always symbolizes our highest values and reaffirms the multiethnic character and equality of all our citizens.

This November, BH UK Network and its members organized an event dedicated to celebrating the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year’s event began with the national anthem. On behalf of the hosts, Dr. Anes Cerić and Zaim Pašić addressed the audience with warm words of welcome and announced the address of Jasmine Sarajlić, Minister Advisor to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the United Kingdom. He also led the program with his poetic language greeted the famous Mostar of Krajina roots, our dear Mišo Marić, who spoke inspiredly about Bosnia and Herzegovina, its holiday and the beautiful children he was surrounded by.
A modest cultural and entertainment program was organized by the students of the Bosnian supplementary schools Birmingham and Coventry. The students, together with their teachers, made an effort to enhance the important day for us with their recitations and songs.

Those present had the opportunity to enjoy their various performances in the Bosnian language. After that, Emir Bolić, a teacher at the BH supplementary school in Birmingham, shared his beliefs and testimonies with the students of the BH supplementary school in Birmingham. and awards to students who completed primary education at BiH supplementary schools in Birmingham and Coventry.

Delegates of BH UK Network took advantage of the opportunity and presented awards to BH citizens for a twenty-five-year contribution to the preservation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture. The program ended with the performance of the folklore group “Mladost Bosne”, from Birmingham, which once again delighted everyone present. Dressed in national costumes, they embellished the program with a mix of games, under the watchful eye of the choreographer Fahira Hasedžić, and the large audience selflessly rewarded them with applause.
Special guests Mišo and Mile ensured that the good mood continued from the cult group Mostar Sevdah Reunion and already widely known Sefer Haskić. Thank you for the outstanding musical performances and the great atmosphere. Socializing continued late into the night, with friends, family, and acquaintances.
Dear friends, dear Bosnians and Herzegovinans,
Happy Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
