The UK highlights its concern over the adoption of laws by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that violate the Dayton Agreement and reaffirms its unequivocal commitment to the territorial integrity of BiH.
The United Kingdom continues to express concern about the rise of dangerous ethno-nationalist politics that seek to undermine the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The people of BiH need their political leaders to focus on enacting reforms, not on escalating tensions and engaging in dangerous, secessionist moves.
We note and share the deep concern of the ODIHR and RFoM regarding the adoption of laws in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that violate the Dayton Agreement. These unconstitutional actions hinder institutions, such as the Court of BiH, in the exercise of their legal powers.
The UK continues to call on all actors to fully comply with Dayton and respect BiH state institutions. We reaffirm our unequivocal commitment to the territorial integrity of BiH and support for a single, sovereign state consisting of two entities, in which all its peoples and citizens are equal.
The actions of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, this week do not serve the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They represent Dodik’s attempt to undermine and distract from the decision of an independent court.
