Pensioners who receive pensions through banks in the FBiH collect checks from their banks every 3 months. If the checks are not collected, the bank returns them to the Pension Fund, after which the Pension Fund temporarily suspends the pension. To prevent this from happening in this pandemic situation, the Pension Fund has extended the deadline for collecting checks from banks until 31.7.2020. In this regard, the Pension Fund has issued the following statement:
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect the health of pensioners, the Federal Institute for Pensions and Disability Insurance (MIO/PIO) informs pension beneficiaries that the period in which our beneficiaries are not obliged to withdraw checks at banks is being extended for another two months, which means that our beneficiaries are not obliged to withdraw pension checks at banks until 31.07.2020. Pension payments will not be suspended for beneficiaries who do not withdraw checks during that period.
This measure was adopted in order to reduce crowding in banks as a significant risk of the spread of infection.
After the deadline of July 31, 2020, the Federal Institute will inform the public about the work regime in the coming period.
