Twenty-five years after the conflict in the former Yugoslavia, people who lived through those difficult times are still writing and developing art that deals with trauma and tries to understand it. As part of the Culture Festival, two of the most prolific and famous Bosnian writers were invited, who wrote about the horrors of war and fleeing for refuge. Faruk Šehić is a veteran whose poetry and prose have achieved cult status in his country and region. Alen Mesković, himself a refugee, lives in Denmark and writes about his homeland and his wartime experience through the Danish language. Join us for a unique opportunity for these two authors to be in London at the same time.
