Bosnian community helps asylum seekers in East Midlands

Considering the fact that a large number of families have been left without income due to the coronavirus pandemic and how many are currently in a difficult life situation, we should not forget to mention vulnerable people such as asylum seekers and refugees who have been without any financial income for a long time.

Despite difficult and uncertain times, the staff and volunteers of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian association Derby invest their time and effort every day to provide support to all asylum seekers and refugees who have no financial income by providing weekly food packages.

Every Thursday and Friday they distribute packages, and according to the manager of the association, Ferid Kevrić, 150 food packages have been distributed so far, and he hopes that, given the current situation, around 500 such packages will be distributed in the end. Efficient staff carefully records all donations and distributes packages for those asylum seekers who, unfortunately, due to unforeseen and stressful times, are unable to obtain food in any other way.

“A big thank you to all of you who have generously donated and supported the project so far!”, says the BiH association Derby.
