This year, March 8th was an occasion to once again organize the celebration of International Women’s Day and to renew the socialization of Bosnians.
The idea came from the Makić family (Mediha and Vernesa) and they were the main organizers. The Derby BH association also joined the organization with a donation for the use of the hall at the Colwick Community Center, and they also donated red carnations for all the ladies present.
A large number of Bosnians from Derby took part in the celebration and we are extremely grateful to them. As is our custom, we all prepared something for the buffet so that there was plenty of food and drink for everyone present.
The whole evening was really beautiful, dancing and singing until exhaustion. As usual, the children had their own show and really enjoyed it. The honor of handing out carnations to all the ladies went to the little boys who proudly went from table to table and congratulated each lady individually. It was a beautiful sight.
This is proof that our Bosnians can and want to socialize and are already asking when something like this will happen again. And we hope that they will respond in even greater numbers. Thank you to everyone for coming to the party, especially the organizers and the Derby Association for the donation and carnations for all the ladies.
