International Women’s Day at South and City College

Webversion 300x96On March 8, Bosnia UK Network were invited to join in the celebrations of International Women’s Day at South and City College Birmingham. The event was organized for women by women and took place at the Golden Hillock campus, which is a women-only center, one of a few of its kind in the country.

Kornelija Besara from Bosnia and Herzegovina UK Network joined representatives from other organizations across the city in an event that was designed to inspire young women to aim high, achieve more and challenge gender inequality. Kornelija ran a workshop with students to produce a Srebrenica flower, including their own messages of peace and equality. The flower willSouthandcitybirmingham 300x113 proudly displayed at the campus, reminding students about the war in Bosnia, which they have already had the opportunity to learn about from their campus manager, Alma Aganović. A big thank you to Bosnia UK Network and Kornelija on behalf of the College and Remembering Srebrenica for taking part.
