It is shameful and worrying that even after 25 years of aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina They still humiliate the victims of persecution, ethnic cleansing, systematic extermination and genocide committed by the army and police of the RS.
It is absurd that “cultural” workers, while promoting a film about the suffering of Serbs, Roma, Jews, and all anti-fascists in Jasenovac during the NDH, at the same time deny the horrors of the Omarska, Keraterm, and Trnopolje camps in the Prijedor region at the end of the twentieth century.
It is unacceptable that national television is spreading heinous lies about the camps in Prijedor. The fact that more than 50 mass graves were found in the Prijedor area, including the mass grave in Tomašica, confirms that there were concentration camps there, and not open camps as Marić and his guests claim. More than 20 people convicted of war crimes and sentenced to more than 250 years in prison have spoken about the horrors of the Prijedor camps.
In our community, there are victims and witnesses of the events of that time and they always experience such statements with stress and re-survival, that’s why we condemn such speakers whose goal is to continue to create hatred and to poison younger generations with falsehood.
The final, tenth stage of genocide is the denial of that same genocide. This example of belittling the victims of the Prijedor camps, and the systematic denial of the Hague Tribunal’s verdict on the genocide in Srebrenica are only a continuation of the genocide against Bosniaks. Whoever denies the genocide becomes an accomplice in the genocide.
We condemn the statements of the above gentlemen in the hope that this will not be repeated in our region and that in the future all facts will be used for the purpose of reconciliation and prosperity of the region, and that the time has come to accept the facts that genocide occurred in Srebrenica and that crimes occurred throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina that should be punished regardless of the nationality of the criminals.
