We are pleased to in Bosanska house hosted H.E. Vanja FIlipović, and two members of CEC/SIP, Mr. Vlad Rogić and Mr. Zeljka Bakalar.
BH UK Network, in cooperation with the Central Election Commission of BiH and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the United Kingdom, organized voter education and information on June 28th and 29th in London and Birmingham.
Mr. Željko Bakalar and Mr. Vlado Rogić presented the process of registering voters abroad and answered the questions that those present had about the upcoming elections.
Mr. Rogić and Mr. Bakalar toured Bosnia house and expressed their delight with what they saw. They thanked for the warm hospitality and the organization of this visit.
Mr. Bakalar said during the visit: “It was a great pleasure for us to visit the Bosnian House and the BH UK Network association in Birmingham. As part of the activities of the Central Election Commission of BiH, we are providing animation, education and information to voters for the Registration for Voting Outside Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2022 General Elections. We consider it important to include as many members of the BiH community in the UK as possible in the electoral process in BiH, because the importance of our diaspora is great for the development of the country, and the votes of voters living outside BiH are also votes that need to be translated into election results. For this purpose, the Central Election Commission of BiH has also developed the online portal “E-Elections” for registering voters outside BiH, which we had the opportunity to present today to representatives of the BiH community in Birmingham and discuss with them all the topics that were the fruit of their interest.”
Ambassador Filipović also took the opportunity to address the audience: “I am pleased that we are continuing the intensive cooperation between the Embassy of BiH in the UK and the BH UK Network, this time, through the implementation of training for voters outside BiH on how to register for the general elections to be held on 2.10.2022, which was carried out by members of the Central Election Commission of BiH, Mr. Vlado Rogić and Mr. Željko Bakalar. I am extremely pleased that the members of the Central Election Commission of BiH have also chosen the UK as the destination where they will conduct this type of information training. The Embassy of BiH will continue to do everything in its power to encourage and enable our citizens in the UK to exercise their right to vote.”
The atmosphere was interesting and we can safely say that after the detailed presentation we expect a greater number of voter registrations from Great Britain.
Elections are an opportunity and let’s not miss it. Unfortunately, so far only a small number of BiH citizens from Great Britain have applied. Register and vote. Let them see that we are also in Great Britain, that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Great Britain want and can exercise their right to vote and influence the brighter future of our dear Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is very important that Bosnians and Herzegovinians with a living address abroad exercise their right to vote in the upcoming General Elections and thereby demonstrate their connection to their homeland of origin.
Once again, we remind you that if anyone needs help with registration, or just answers to some of the questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 0121 772 3052 or at the contact email uknetwork.lejla@btconnect.com .
VOTERS FROM GREAT BRITAIN, REGISTER TO VOTE: LET’S SHOW PATRIOTIC AWARENESS TOGETHER BY VOTING ON OCTOBER 2ND.
