I have already written about Hafsa Jalisa , a former student of BiH supplementary school in London . I gave her the epithet of the girl with the golden voice, and by God, her stature. Now I have one more reason, because Hafsa can add another victory to her already rich musical biography.
This victory is special because it was achieved in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Maglaj , her mother’s hometown, at the 2019 Student Summer, Hafsa won THIRD PLACE by audience votes.
The competition was fierce, with students from all six countries of the former Yugoslavia and Hafsa from Great Britain participating. All participants were accompanied by a live orchestra, and there were about 1,300 people in the audience.
We can really be proud of young people like this, who try to nurture the musical heritage of BiH through music, even though they don’t live in it.
Heartfelt congratulations to our Hafsa and all the other participants of this festival, with the hope that their musical careers will continue on an upward trajectory.
