As always before, the Bosnian and Herzegovinian association Derbi celebrated Refugee Day this year. This year’s theme is “Healing”, which in translation means “healing”.
This topic is also an invitation to focus through creativity and discussion on togetherness, caring for each other, as well as the human ability to start life anew.
We organized an art exhibition at the Bosnian center. Our artist Emira Ramic from Huddersfield presented her works, and organized a workshop where refugees and asylum seekers had the opportunity to learn art techniques and paint works.
Mirko Cupkovic from Derby also exhibited his artwork alongside Emir, and attendees had the opportunity to purchase some of them.We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their response, and we hope to continue our cooperation in the future.
Also, we would like to thank the mayor of the city of Derby, who graced this event with his presence.
