In the premises of the Bosnian House this weekend, we found the students of the BiH supplementary school Birmingham rehearsing for the upcoming School Day. We took the opportunity to distribute Eid packages to them, organized by the BiH Association Birmingham and with the help of hardworking volunteers and coordinators. The joy of the children was special.
In the crowded Bosnian House, the packages were handed out by Mrs. Šemsa Zlomužica, a long-time activist of the Bosnian community in Birmingham and also this year’s coordinator for the Bosnian supplementary school. The children were surprised and happy when they saw the packages. 35 packages were distributed, including to our dear girls in the KUD “Mladost Bosne”.
Of course, we have not forgotten our hard-working teachers who work tirelessly every weekend to promote the culture, language and heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time reminding young people to be proud of their dual British-Bosnian identity.
We sincerely thank everyone who increased the joy of Eid with their presence and participation, and we hope that our young ambassadors will remember it fondly.
