I would like to wish the Bosnian community in Birmingham all the best as they celebrate their National Day. I am proud that Birmingham provided refuge to the Bosnian people when they faced the only genocide on European soil since World War II.
Now, the UK Bosnia and Herzegovina Network is supporting not only its fellow citizens but also people from all over the world, including Syria and Ukraine, as they build their lives in our city. I was privileged to visit the new Bosnian House to see for myself their extraordinary work.”
