As part of the National Srebrenica Remembrance Day, which is celebrated every year with the highest state honors throughout the United Kingdom, the charity, Remembering Srebrenica , founded in 2013, has once again invited esteemed artists from the Sarajevo National Theatre and Sudbin Music, a genocide survivor, to grace this year’s commemorations on the Island with their presence and performance.
Elvir Solak, musical accompaniment member of the NPS choir, and Aida Čorbadžić, soprano, have decided to contribute to the artistic part of the program of the Memorial “Remembering Srebrenica”, in the UK.
During a two-day visit to Birmingham, a city of diverse ethnic communities, Elvir and Aida, along with Sudbina Musić, decided to visit the premises of the Bosnian House.
They were welcomed to the Bosnian House by the delegates of the BH UK Network. This was their first visit of this kind, and we hope it will not be their last. They expressed their pleasure at their arrival and pride that the Bosnian and Herzegovinian community in the UK, thanks to their many years of work and commitment, has acquired a BiH center like the Bosnian House in Birmingham.
“It is nice to hear our language in the heart of Birmingham. We are glad that the efforts of our people in Birmingham and its surroundings have made it possible for all Bosnians and Herzegovinans who visit the UK to have a center where the door is always open to them,” said Mr. Solak.
