In late December, during his visit to central-west England, Mr Nedim Memagić, a long-standing community activist dedicated to networking and empowering the Bosnian and Herzegovinian community in the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on young people, visited the new Bosnia House building in Birmingham.
Following a tour of the premises and discussions with the Bosnia House team, he shared his views on the importance of this space and its long-term potential.
“In late December, while travelling through central-west England, I had the opportunity to visit the new Bosnia House building in Birmingham. The friendly and professional staff presented the progress achieved so far, the current status of the building, as well as the short- and long-term plans related to the facility, demonstrating openness to advice and ideas for its further development.
“In my personal view, this is a historically extremely important building, located in a highly strategic area, with significant potential and capacity. With careful and long-term planning, this space could be further utilised to strengthen business, educational and cultural cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.
“Given my personal commitment to networking and advancing Bosnian and Herzegovinian youth in the United Kingdom, I also see Bosnia House as a space with strong potential for the development and incubation of young people’s business ideas. Such a space could offer opportunities for sustainable beginnings in building small and medium-sized enterprises owned by young people, as well as supporting their personal development into future leaders within their industries.
“In a broader context, this approach would contribute to strengthening the influence and wellbeing of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian community in the United Kingdom, as well as fostering long-term partnership and friendship between the United Kingdom and Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
