The Bosnian language, culture and traditions of our homeland were presented by members of the Fahira Hasedžić Cultural and Artistic Society from Birmingham.
The event began with an animated documentary about the background of the language movement and the recognition of International Mother Language Day. The program continued with children and artists from various countries around the world presenting dances and songs in their own languages, preserving their culture and traditions.
The traditional and colorful costumes of each country colored the entire hall into a different atmosphere.

Watching the artists’ performances, one could feel that art has no specific country or border, that’s true. This arrangement brought everyone together on one stage, the distance of language cannot create any barrier there. Music and dance have their own power.
Birmingham is one of the first cities in the UK to have more than 50 percent of its population from ethnic minorities. In the second largest city in Great Britain, 110 languages are spoken every day. One of those languages is the Bosnian language.
We congratulate Purbanat on the excellent organization of the event.
