In 2019, flights will be operated from Sarajevo International Airport to seven new destinations: Riyadh, Gassim, Jeddah, Kuwait, Athens, Berlin and Gothenburg, and two renewed routes.
– In addition to the new airlines, this year the airlines Swiss International Air Lines and Air Arabia have re-established flights to Zurich and Sharjah, so we have nine new routes, they said from Sarajevo International Airport.
By the end of the year, they expect, the airline Flybosnia could introduce new routes.
– At this moment, we have confirmation that they will introduce direct flights from Sarajevo to London from September, they confirmed from this airport.
Sarajevo Airport, they point out, is continuously working on introducing new routes, and it is expected that in the coming period, in addition to London, it will introduce some other airlines, but they state that it is still too early to say which destinations exactly these are.
Currently, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is connected to a total of 21 cities via direct flights via Sarajevo International Airport, namely: Ljubljana, Belgrade, Vienna, Zagreb, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dubai, Munich, Stockholm, Istanbul, Zurich, Budapest, Kuwait, Riyadh, Doha, Gassim, Jeddah, Athens, Berlin, Gothenburg and Sharjah.
Traffic growth is continuous from year to year. In 2018, Sarajevo Airport had a total of 1,045,417 passengers.
– For the first half of 2019 (January 1 – June 30), we had a total of 457,734 passengers. Experience from previous business years, an increased number of tourists, and increased traffic indicate that this year, the number of passengers is expected to increase compared to the previous year, Sarajevo Airport pointed out.
