If you thought that humanity was lost, this text will convince you otherwise. To meet the New Year holidays, two girls showed their humanity and modesty, helping those who need help the most. Emina and Selma decided to open their restaurant in Coventry for Christmas. The reason for this is that the restaurant owners decided to offer free hot meals to the homeless, families who are financially vulnerable, and those generally in need.
Selmina’s Restaurant and Bar 16 on Spon Street had hoped to offer table service for lunch, but this will not be feasible now that Coventry’s Level 3 restrictions have not been lifted.
Hot meals will be offered via a takeaway service – which the restaurant is still allowed to do under level three regulations.
“It’s been a really tough year and there are so many people who are suffering or in difficult situations,” said Emina, one of the restaurant owners.
“We just want to put a smile on their faces this Christmas.”
The restaurant is run by Selma and Emina.
Selma Karagić is a Bosnian girl who grew up in Great Britain. He runs a restaurant with his best friend with great passion, serving people and giving them an experience to remember. “I like to give, serve and help. Hospitality is my heart and Selmina’s is the proof,” said Selma.
Emina Zeren is of Turkish origin, from Tekirdag. She grew up in the village always surrounded by food. “Cooking is in my veins. Selmina’s restaurant is here to show everyone what I love to do.”
