Many people on whom the coronavirus had a longer effect have health problems with the heart, diabetes, liver and kidneys, the research showed.
“People leave the hospital, have long-term consequences of coronavirus, come back to the hospital and die. We see that this was the case in 30 percent of people, and that’s a lot. The numbers are really high,” said study author Kamlesh Khunti.
According to him, it is necessary to prepare for what is called a long-term coronavirus. Therefore, he believes it is necessary to ensure patient monitoring during and after treatment.
Khunti, who is an expert in diabetes management and vascular medicine, says those who have been treated for coronavirus are significantly more likely to be readmitted to the hospital, compared to those who had other health conditions.
He pointed out that there are many who have been readmitted to the hospital, but with some new diagnoses. That is why he emphasized the importance of appropriate therapy.
Among those who sought medical help again after being treated for the coronavirus were people who had diabetes or heart problems. This research has not yet been peer-reviewed, the New York Post reports.
