British Prime Minister Boris Johnson vowed to stamp out the “virus of anti-Semitism” as he spoke at a Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in London today, news reports
Johnson, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attended a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp.
– I feel a deep sense of shame that here in Great Britain in 2020 we are dealing with a resurgence of the virus of anti-Semitism and I know that as Prime Minister I take responsibility to do everything possible to eliminate it. While we resolutely say “never again”, it is true that we should also ask what happened to our determination in the genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur – said Johnson, reports Avaz.
He said he would do everything in his power to ensure that Great Britain never forgets the truth about the Holocaust.
– This is the only way we can be sure that it won’t happen again – he added.
