ENTRY CONDITIONS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
CITIZENS OF BIH
Citizens of BiH may enter Bosnia and Herzegovina with valid travel documents, i.e. a valid passport or other identification document issued by the competent authority of BiH, and a valid personal identity card or other identification document with a photograph that can be used to cross the state border and is recognized by an international agreement to which BiH is a contracting party, while in the case of entering BiH without a valid BiH travel document, they are subject to misdemeanor prosecution.
Please note that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are not required to have a PCR test result for the SARS-COV-2 virus.
FOREIGNERS
Foreigners who meet the conditions for entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina prescribed by the Law on Foreigners, may enter Bosnia and Herzegovina upon presentation of a negative PCR test result for the SARS-COV-2 virus that is no older than 48 hours prior to arrival at the border crossing of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Without presenting a negative PCR test result for the SARS-COV-2 virus, the following can enter Bosnia and Herzegovina:
- citizens of Montenegro, the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia , when they enter Bosnia and Herzegovina directly from the country of which they are citizens, as well as their minor children and spouses who are citizens of other countries,
- crew and cabin crew of aircraft whose final destination is Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- drivers and passengers of freight vehicles during the international transport of goods in road traffic, provided that their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina does not last longer than 12 hours,
- crews of freight trains and ships in international traffic,
- diplomatic and consular personnel and personnel of international organizations in the performance of their official duties, who must possess and present an appropriate valid passport upon entering Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- services and civil protection teams when their entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina is urgent and cannot be postponed,
- members of the military forces of the member states of the North Atlantic Treaty and other countries participating in the Partnership for Peace and members of the NATO and EUFOR Headquarters in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- heads of state and government and members of their delegations whose arrival and departure from Bosnia and Herzegovina has been announced to the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina through diplomatic channels or through the protocol of the competent authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- foreigners transiting through the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to return to their country of usual residence, without staying on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- a minor foreigner whose parent is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a foreigner who is the spouse of a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
NOTE: According to the currently valid Decision on prescribing additional conditions for the entry of foreigners into Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreigners who possess a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or a doctor’s certificate that they have recovered from COVID-19 cannot enter Bosnia and Herzegovina without possessing and presenting a negative PCR test result.
Currently, no quarantine or self-isolation measures are imposed upon entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina, while all persons upon entering Bosnia and Herzegovina are required to follow the instructions and respect all orders of the competent epidemiological and health authorities (social distancing, protective masks, hand disinfection, etc.)
