Yesterday we had a fantastic time organising a Bosnian Culture Day for our friends and community members at the Abbey Centre in Westminster, London.
The event started with delicious Bosnian coffee, expertly prepared in an authentic dzhezva. This was followed by a series of traditional Bosnian dishes, including ćevapčići, burek, baklava and other specialties brought by Bosnian ladies.
A short documentary about the historical way of life of Bosniaks in the medieval town of Travnik, one of the oldest settlements from the early 15th century, provided a fascinating insight into the Ottoman influences on architecture, cuisine and culture.
We were delighted by the presence of Ambassador Osman Topčagić from the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding significance to this event and fostering a deeper sense of connection between our community and Bosnian culture.
The day was rounded off with a sincere speech by one of our volunteers and a presentation of gifts for all the children who participated, who received small gifts and sweets.
We would like to thank our ambassador, all the volunteers and food donors who participated in this event. We hope to see you again soon! With love, Bosnian Community London.
