The new school year has just begun, and the impressions from the last celebration of the Meeting of BH Supplementary Schools in the UK are still being recounted. Organized by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Citizens’ Organizations in Derby on behalf of the Bosnia UK Network, which has sponsored these meetings since the very beginning, the 21st Meeting of BH Supplementary Schools was held. Undeniably, these meetings of Bosnians and Herzegovinians on the Island have become the largest gathering of BiH citizens in Great Britain.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere congratulations and praise for the successful organization. We all really enjoyed the rich program of supplementary schools from Birmingham, Manchester, Coventry, Hertfordshire, London Victoria and Derby. All of this was enhanced by the performances of the folklore groups “Mladost Bosne” from Birmingham and “Bosanski Biseri” from Derby.
Congratulations to the children and praise to the teachers, activists and housewives who prepared a rich meal for all present. Many volunteers have contributed to maintaining the work and activity of all BH associations over the past years and without them such projects would be unfeasible. With the enormous help of parents and volunteers, such successes are guaranteed.
This year’s meetings will be remembered for the recognition given to all activists for their efforts and work, as well as their exceptional contribution to the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage and language of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in Great Britain.
The awards were presented by Kemo Sarač, Assistant Minister for Human Rights and Refugees, Ana Judi Galić, Head of the Department for Status
On this occasion, on behalf of all the Volunteers who received awards, I would like to sincerely thank them and wish them many more successful years in the realization of the most beautiful projects, which are “Meetings and togetherness of the BH Diaspora”.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Fahira Hasedžić/Bosnia UK Network
