In addition to representatives of the BH UK Network, which brings together BiH associations in the United Kingdom and helped organize this meeting, the meeting was also attended by representatives of other BiH associations, supplementary schools, and individuals.
The work of the Emigration Sector to date and the activities undertaken to implement the Policy on Cooperation with the Emigrants were presented. The focus of the meeting was on the topics of mutual connections and strengthening cooperation with the emigrants, developing a strategy for cooperation with the emigrants, knowledge transfer, supplementary education and other topics delegated by representatives of the emigrants.
During the discussion, the participants of the meeting had the opportunity to ask questions to the representatives of the Department for Emigration of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and many topics of interest to emigration were discussed, especially the issues related to the procedure for registering children born as emigrants in the register of births in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Representatives of the Ministry pointed to the data from the research “Mapping emigration from BiH”, which was conducted for the needs of the Ministry in 2018, that there is an extremely low percentage of enrollment of children originating from BiH born as emigrants in the register of births in Bosnia and Herzegovina (according to the research, 80% of children are not enrolled) and they discussed the possibilities of simplifying the enrollment procedure and speeding up the process itself.
It should be emphasized that the meeting could not be realized without the support of representatives of organizations and supplementary schools.
