In the afternoon, the premises of the Bosnian House were visited by members of the Small Heath Community Forum (SHCF) from Birmingham, who work and operate in the KHIDMAT centre in the Small Heath municipality. This is a charitable non-governmental organisationThumbnail IMG 5150 300x225 organization, which deals with health promotion and life saving, training and education and problems of unemployment and economic and social development. Also, SHCF staff work daily to support other charitable organizations, people of a certain ethnic or racial background. SHCF acts as an umbrella organization, providing advice and premises for use.

BH UK Network hosted the Small Heath Community Forum staff at their premises and treated them to lunch. Afterwards, a regular meeting was held during which those present had the opportunity to have an open discussion about things they thought could be improved in Small Heath Municipality. Problems that Small Heath Municipality regularly encounters were highlighted, such as drug addiction, theft, litter and waste, and irregular maintenance of green areas in Small Heath Park.

“It is wonderful to be in the renovated premises of your Bosnian House. We thank you for the wonderful welcome and delicious meals. We are delighted that Bosnians and Herzegovinians, considering that they constitute a minority ethnic group in the UK, have integrated and continued to fight for their rights in the municipalities in which they live and work. Thank you for the invitation and we hope to cooperate in the near future,” said the director of the organization, Zualfqar Hussain.Thumbnail IMG 5148 300x242
