For two years now, Bosnia UK Network has been working closely with the Healing Hands Network, a charity based in the UK. The director, Susan Stretton, sends therapists to the Bosnian House in Birmingham twice a month, who come from different parts of the UK to help Bosnians and Herzegovinans. All the therapists who come are professionals and hardworking activists who provide our members of the Bosnian community with a variety of treatments such as massage, Reiki and Bowen therapy.
Therapists strive to provide therapy in a professional manner, but they are aware that by doing so, they are also improving the lives of many BiH citizens in England who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They use different types of therapy to help people overcome PTSD. The type of therapy depends on the situation and the client. According to the therapists, so far, patients have responded well to the therapy, and after just a few sessions, PTSD symptoms have been alleviated. Research has shown that this type of therapy and technique leads to relaxation of the mind and body, which has a positive effect on the nervous system and the relief of PTSD symptoms.
This organization has also been operating in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1997, sending volunteer therapists free of charge to treat people suffering from the physical and emotional consequences of the Balkan War. They also work in the UK supporting veterans, providing assistance to members of the British Armed Forces and their families.

Nick is a gentleman who travels all the way from Bristol to come to Bosnian House to do complimentary therapies for our community members. We can’t forget the phenomenal therapists Jane and Vicky who come from London to work with our members.
