Organized by the World Federation of Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SSD BiH), the 18th World Diaspora Futsal Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina was traditionally held in Sarajevo from May 12 to 14, 2023.
The Futsal World Cup is the largest gathering of young people of Bosnian origin in the world. The championship is held every year in a different country, hosted by diaspora associations or associations of Bosnian citizens living there.
This year, teams from 14 countries participated: Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland and Denmark.

The winner of this year’s Diaspora World Championship is the team from Belgium, the second-place team is Sweden, while Austria defeated Germany in the third-place match and thus deservedly won the bronze medal.
The winners were presented with the trophy by Dr. Sevlid Hurtić, Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who addressed the audience and emphasized that the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Sector for Emigration support the activities and engagement of SSD BiH, which for many years has been working to gather and connect young people from the diaspora by organizing such sports events, and that as the minister he will propose to the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina that this event be held under the auspices of UEFA one year in BiH, and the following year in one of the countries where BiH citizens live and work.
