We always look forward to these meetings, not only because we enjoy the program, but also because we always share our experiences with other schools, teachers and other management: BiH Embassy, Bosnia UK Network and others.
The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Supplementary School from Manchester joined this year and shared the happiness and successes of other schools, but unfortunately they did not perform due to the absence of all children and the obligations in which they were actively involved this year: Achievement Day 15 May 2019 at Manchester City Council, Poetry Remembering Srebrenica 3 July 2019.
The children really wanted to attend and they prepared a very wonderful program, but we teachers decided that it was too much for them, considering that there is only two days between the second performance. The children prepared and sent a short video, but unfortunately it was not possible to show it due to technical problems. Therefore, the representative of the school, Sadija Muminović, took part and thanked for the invitation and conveyed greetings and greetings from all the students and explained their reasons. The program was wonderful, because all the teachers and children put a lot of effort into preparing the program.
The school from Birmingham had a wonderful performance, where each child had one letter from the word “My Bosnia”, and each initial letter was represented by the name of a city in Bosnia. A school from Coventry also had a notable performance, where the children recited and pointed out that politicians don’t mix apples and oranges. So we hope that we will have from these young ranks of our generation: good politicians, doctors, teachers and all other professions with knowledge of at least two or three foreign languages.
And the other schools from Derby, London, Hertfordshire were really fantastic. The folklore is excellent and really, all the children were great and really tried their best to prepare extremely wonderful and educational programs. Kudos to the good organization and congratulations to the teachers and children.
One of the important things that should be emphasized is that government representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina came to attend the School Day program; Deputy Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who personally handed out certificates of appreciation to teachers, volunteers and school coordinators across England.
We would like to thank everyone for the wonderful organization and fellowship, Derbi and Ferid Kevrić and other volunteers for organizing the meeting, Bosnia UK Network for taking care of all the schools and teachers, the Deputy Ambassador for his kind words and support, all the schools for participating, the Remembering Srebrenica team and everyone else who invested their valuable time and did their utmost to ensure that everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the visitors from Manchester, who were among the last to leave Derbi, and Alija and Ajna, future students of the Bosnian School in Manchester, especially enjoyed themselves.
Thank you very much for the invitation and the wonderful program.
Congratulations!
Greetings from Manchester
Sadija Muminovic
