BKC PRIJEDOR SUBMITTED THE INITIATIVE TO THE ASSEMBLY OF THE CITY OF PRIJEDOR TO NAME THE STREET OR THE SQUARE ACCORDING TO AHMET KEMAL BAYSAK – A FRIEND OF THE CITY OF PRIJEDOR
PRIJEDOR, JANUARY 10, 2021.
We would like to inform the public in the City of Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora that the Association of the Bosnian Cultural Center in Prijedor has sent an official initiative to the competent bodies of the City Assembly of Prijedor – the President of the Assembly, Mr. Mirsad Duratović and all councilors of the Assembly, as well as the Mayor of the City of Prijedor, Mr. Dalibor Pavlović, to name a street or square in the area of the City of Prijedor after the deceased, Honorary Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Ahmet Kemal Baysak.
Below we bring you an excerpt from the text of this initiative of the BKC Association in Prijedor:
Dear President of the Prijedor City Assembly, Mr. Mirsad Duratović,
Very esteemed members of the Prijedor City Assembly,
Dear Mayor of the City of Prijedor, Mr. Dalibor Pavlović,
We are hereby submitting a proposal for launching an initiative to name a street or a square in the area of the City of Prijedor after the deceased, Honorary Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Ahmet Kemal Baysak.
Accordingly, we propose that the Assembly of the City of Prijedor, in accordance with the provisions of Article 39, paragraph (2), point 14) of the Statute of the City of Prijedor (“Official Gazette of the City of Prijedor”, number 12/17), make a decision that the selected street or square in the City of Prijedor bear the following name:
“Ahmet Kemal Baysak Street – Friend of the City of Prijedor” or
“Ahmet Kemal Baysak Square – Friend of the City of Prijedor”,
due to the very significant and exceptional personal contribution of Mr. Ahmet Kemal Baysak to the citizens and institutions of the City of Prijedor, especially in:
In the “twinning” project of the City of Prijedor and the City of Manisa in the Republic of Turkey;
Development of cultural and other social cooperation and relations between the City of Prijedor and the Turkish cities of Manisa and Izmir;
Helping the residents of the City of Prijedor, which suffered in the floods of 2014;
Sincere love and nobility towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and its cities, including Prijedor, as well as all its peoples and citizens.
We suggest that the following authorized proponents submit the initiative in question to the Assembly of the City of Prijedor for consideration:
President of the Assembly of the City of Prijedor, and/or
Club and/or clubs of councilors, and/or individual councilors, who work in the Prijedor City Assembly, and/or
The Mayor of the City of Prijedor, within his jurisdiction.
Attached is the Decision of the Board of Directors of the Bosnian Cultural Center Association in Prijedor, number: BKC-UO/01/IV-02/2021 of January 10, 2021, on the launch of the initiative in question, as well as an excerpt from the biographical data of Mr. Ahmet Kemal Baysak.
Dear Sirs, we appreciate that the City of Prijedor, its highest bodies and officials, as well as all residents of the city, recognized in Mr. Baysak a true, honest and noble man and a great friend of the City of Prijedor and every one of its citizens, and that this proposed initiative will be our joint contribution to the lasting memory and remembrance of Mr. Ahmet Kemal Baysak.
