An open letter to the British-Bosnian community in London and the surrounding area

Dear members, 28 years ago, the British-Bosnian community began a journey based on hope, dreams and the need for connection. Many of you started building it with us, and today, we look back with pride on all we have achieved. We also remember those who built with us, but sadly are no longer here. Their legacy is the foundation on which we build an even stronger future today.

Over the past decades, our Bosnia and Herzegovina Community Advice Centre (BHCAC) has grown into much more than an organization. It has become the lifeblood of our community: a safe haven, a meeting place, and a source of support. Through all the challenges and joys, we have proven the strength of our unity. Our achievements, which are the fruit of our work together, include:

  • Inclusion and support: We have always been open to everyone, creating a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Financial sustainability: We have achieved financial stability that guarantees our long-term survival and future growth.
  • Impactful partnerships: We have built strong bridges of cooperation with the state and civil sectors, ensuring that the voice of our community is heard and respected.
  • High reputation and trust: Our reputation is not just our achievement, but a reflection of the trust you have shown us over the years.

We are now entering a new, strategic phase of development. We invite you to join us in shaping an even brighter future for our community. It is time to enrich our heritage, culture and identity with new ideas and energy. Our vision is a community where our identity not only survives, but also strongly prospers.

This is a special call to the young generations, from 18 to 30 years old. You are the key to our future, our driving force and inspiration. Come and share your ideas, energy and talent. Your perspective is what we need to build the next 28 years of success.

The first step in this direction is our initial meeting:

Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 4:00 p.m

Address: BHCAC, rear of 108 High Road, Willesden, NW10 2PP

Your presence is essential. Your voice is essential. Your support is the foundation of our future success. I look forward to our meeting and starting this exciting chapter together.

Respectfully,

Sađida Trožić
