The celebration was held in the presence of family, friends, and colleagues with whom Dr. Besara shared her work, successes, and friendship during the past thirty years of engagement in the Bosnian and Herzegovinian community.
Dr. Besara arrived in the United Kingdom during the war, along with her sister Branka and daughter Kornelija, and from the very beginning she was actively involved in the work of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community . Over the decades she has made a huge contribution to the development and strengthening of the Bosnian diaspora through her involvement in:
BHCA Coventry , Bosnia UK Network and the World Federation of Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina .
For decades of selfless dedication and exceptional contribution to the development of the Bosnian community in the UK , Dr. Zdenka Besara received a Lifetime Achievement Award , presented to her by Lord Khan, Minister for Religious Communities and Resettlement .
