It was a great pleasure for us to host Nihad Filipović , a long-time activist of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Association of Hertfordshire , BH UK Network and the World Federation of the Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina , at the Bosnian House in Birmingham .
Nihad made an exceptional contribution to the development of our diaspora , especially during the first decades after the arrival of our people in the United Kingdom, when the foundations of today’s Bosnian community were being laid .
Together with Faruk Tičić and Hajrudin Omerović (Denmark), he was one of the key people in the drafting of the founding documents of the World Diaspora Federation of BiH . His dedication, vision and tireless work left a deep mark in strengthening the connection between our people and in presenting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the most beautiful light .
We are especially glad that Nihad visited the Bosnian House and the Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Birmingham for the first time , where we evoked memories together and discussed future joint initiatives.
