Lejla Kevrić – Every step is important!

As part of marking Srebrenica Remembrance Week, Lejla Kevrić has been deciding for a few years now to educate people about the Srebrenica genocide through various projects.

She came to the UK at the age of 11. Lejla currently lives in London and recently completed a Masters in Design Expanded Practice at Goldsmiths University.

“Using this year’s theme, “Every Step Matters,” I contacted several creatives and we began a dialogue about the Srebrenica genocide. Each individual took it upon themselves to learn more about the Srebrenica genocide. They decided to create a visual, written or audio response to their learning. These were compassionately compiled into a video honoring the victims of the Srebrenica genocide,” said Lejla Kevrić.

On this occasion, numerous creatives dedicated their valuable time to learn more about the Srebrenica genocide and created powerful responses. The following participated in the project:

Alexi Hernandez
Alicia SH Kuo
Andrew Morton
Cyrus Khan
BLM. Art
Elaine Xu
Ely Vargas
Isabella Isabeau
Kadin Kostelic
