Dear and respected, at the beginning we would like to thank you for your time to get to know each other and to present our work to you. We are writing to you on behalf of the Association Little Ambassadors of Sarajevo, which was founded in 2019 by tourism workers out of love for Bosnia and Herzegovina and all the beautiful things it has, in order to spread the word about our homeland around the world and invite as many people as possible to visit it.
In the association, we prepare activities for children. These include tours of the City of Sarajevo and introductions to cultural and historical landmarks. The project exceeded the expectations of all those who participated, as it proved to be an ideal opportunity for children to practically learn everything they are taught in school. The success of the project is also evidenced by the fact that we cooperate with about 85% of schools in the Sarajevo Canton, and so far almost 3,000 children have participated in the project.
We wanted to increase the number of children this year, but the coronavirus pandemic prevented us from doing so. We had to move all field activities to online platforms. On the YouTube channel Mali ambasadori, we are uploading new video materials for children so that their days during the pandemic are filled with useful content. We are active on social networks – Facebook and Instagram, where we regularly communicate with our followers, publish new video clips, prize games and try to provide something innovative despite the difficult situation.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus halved this year’s number of participants, so we came up with the idea of organizing virtual tours of our city so that children outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina would also have the opportunity to get to know the capital of their homeland. We are cooperating with several diaspora associations whose members were guests on our tours, but given the entire situation, we are aware and saddened that they will probably not be able to come to BiH this year. That is why we are ready to use all the possibilities of the internet.
This is a great opportunity for our children to come into direct contact with the Bosnian language and thus not forget their homeland and their roots. Therefore, in these difficult days, we are turning to you to support our work, because we believe that we have a unique product that keeps up with the times and sets us apart from others. With virtual tours, we have no restrictions to give children a new experience, while being safe and adhering to all the rules to protect our health.
We would like to talk with you in more detail about all the ideas we have, hoping that with your support we will be able to realize them. We look forward to it.
