A dinner was held in London last night in honor of the culture and culinary heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is the third series of “Embassy Evenings” organized by the Young Members Working Group.
This was a unique opportunity for members and distinguished guests of The Travelers club in London they introduce the culture, food and drink from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The dinner was enriched with Bosnian music, culture and art. Bosnian cuisine is an important segment of the entire cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to specific art, literature, folklore, weaving, embroidery and the general way of life, without a doubt, we can also add Bosnian dishes. This miraculous symbiosis she delighted those present in the historic hall of The Travellers Club in London.
The evening was attended by HE Vanja Filipović , Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Kingdom. Ambassador Filipović thanked the organizers of the dinner, The Travellers Club, for the opportunity to introduce the rich culture and tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the London society. H.E. Filipović took the opportunity to emphasize that Bosnian and Herzegovinian society is proud of its multicultural character, which has been built over centuries, and which has survived numerous challenges, including violent attempts to destroy such a society and divide it forever, which has not and will never happen. At the end of his speech, Ambassador Filipović invited all those present to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, if they have not already, and to work together to strengthen bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.
The evening was also attended by representatives of the BH UK Network, the umbrella organization of Bosnian-Herzegovinian associations in the United Kingdom. Special guests of the artistic program were Dženana Huseinagić and Dženana Šehanović Sarajlić. The musical performance “Sevdah and Classics – a Blend of Tradition and Art” by Dženana Šehanović Sarajlić, master of piano, and prof. dr. Dženana Huseinagić, soprano, implies a rounded whole permeated with some of the most beautiful works of the Balkan musical heritage with a distinctive and rich musical lyrical repertoire. The emphasis would certainly be on sevdalinka, whose birthplace is Bosnia and Herzegovina and which have given an authentic stamp to Bosnian-Herzegovinian music, which particularly delighted those present.
Guests also enjoyed the artwork of Sonya Radan, an artist from Sarajevo with an address in London. In London, Sonya is a highly respected artist, where she has lived for more than 30 years. Soon, she interested the audience with her talent and became a valuable name in Bosnia and Herzegovina. arts.

The dinner was organized in the room of the well-known The Travellers club in London, founded
back in 1819 by a group led by Lord Castlereagh. It was founded as a meeting place for like-minded gentlemen who travelled abroad, and where they could entertain foreign visitors and diplomats posted to London. Distinguished members of the Diplomatic Service, the Home Civil Service and the Armed Forces have traditionally been members of the Club.
